I am so sorry, but Gene and I will be in Japan when the class reunion is being held. This will be the first reunion that Gene and I have missed. We both know how much work it is to organize these things as we were on reunion committees in previous years. So sorry,

I will definitely be at the class reunion. Spoke to Lolly Eberhardt and connected with Judy Chadwick today and it sure is nice to communicate after all these years.

Hello to all the BRAVES from the class of '56.  Oops not PC in today's world.  "To bad so sad"!!  Maybe crawling under our desks was not so bad after all. Anyway on to the things at hand. First,  a sad note for the classmates who were unaware. Dick Church  passed away a few years ago in Texas.  Moe or Lyman are more up to date in regards to the loss of a very close high school buddy.

Art Manning, it was nice of you to remember me. Brings back positive memories of a good times. Tom Flenniken, your phone call caught me totally off guard.  It was great to renew friendships.  I look forward to the day we can break bread together.  Soon I
hope. To heck with that other club on campus.  The important question is where are the Wam Bomies???  George Petro, Lyman Baker and Norm Forgey, Robert Green.  I know where to reach you but where is Pat Atkisson, Paul Mushik, Cliff Donati, etc?  I know I missed someone.. Its time for a reunion at the Brown Derby in Hollywood. Is it still there?  I'll bring the cigars.  We will host a cold one up to Bill Rose, a damn good guy.

Well enough rattling about yesterday, and that's how it seems at times.  In regards to the reunion and the class of '56,  I will toss this out for what it is worth:  Huntington Beach, or better yet, Corona Del Mar would make for a great spot for the reunion.  There is a lot of great memories with a large percentage of our class who have spent some good -no great times there!! Whatever the choice I will attend.

I would be interested in chairing a committee for a golf tournament at that time.  I
am sure there are more than a few of us would be hackers that may have an interest - women and men!!  I currently sponsor, in my name, a charity golf tournament for the homeless Veterans and their families,  in the San Diego area, in concert with the Vietnam Veterans of San Diego, a non profit organization.  In five years we have netted in excess of $75,000.  We are currently planning the next one for 2003.  The intent of that last bit of info' was for the purpose of saying we can do it!!! More later

The web site is great once I finally figured out how to get it to go. I would be very interested in a reunion. some place near an airport would be good. Does anyone know where Tony Romero is?  Last time I talked to him he was a meat cutter in the Chino area but was retiring and doing some entertaining with his group, weddings etc.  Glad to know Shlomo is interested in coming.  We haven't seen him since Newport Beach a long time ago. Keep up the good work.

Nice to see that Sholmo Bachrach is around.  I don't think he has made any of our reunions.  Good to see Mark Neumann on the list, too.

Do any classmates have the 1956 Graduation Commencement Program?  We would like to find a list of names other than the ones we have in our Senior book.  Also, if you have any information that may be helpful in finding classmates, let us know.  We would also be interested in eventually posting any memorabilia that you might locate.

In addition, we need volunteers that would like to join the fun in creating our next reunion.  Basically these are the areas for tasks:  Search Group.  We need several people to help us locate lost classmates.  Those with computer and/or people-find skills will enjoy this task.  Events Group  This group would decide on activities at the reunion -a fun group.  Site Group  These lucky people will locate the site for our reunion, with one living near the selected site.  Publicity Group  These people will get the word out about up-coming events, mailing flyers, etc.  The Web Master, or in my case the web jester, will be part of this group posting whatever we need on the web.  The Money Group will collect money, handle promotions and two treasures will coordinate the deposits and withdrawals.  These two should live close together.  The Memory Group will coordinate the Memory Book with photos and arrange the photography.  Having access to e-mail is important, although not required.

I think we can have a great time pulling this together.  Let's all get involved!!!  What do you think?

I was so sorry to hear about Patti Coffman.  What a fun and  choice lady she was.  My deepest sympathy and love go to the family. It's so sad to loose one of our classmates.

I'd love to see old friends again at a reunion, but now live up in Sequim, Washington.  However, I make it down that way every now and then, so would like to know what date is being planned.  Thanks.

I would like to know if there is a class reunion in the planning.

July 9, 2002

Posted by:  Mark Neumann

Yes, I am he and I definitely am interested in a reunion.  Especially if it would be limited to the class of 1956 and their significant others.  I have enjoyed the previous reunions but it is not our class as an entity. Let me know if I can be of help.

I like the idea of a reunion during the coming year.  The closer to LA, the more likely it is that I will be able to attend.  Favorable health would also be nice...until early this year I was leading a charmed life on that score, but suddenly ran out of luck.  Recovering from surgery, hoping that things continue to improve.  If things go well, I may be traveling again, which might also get in the way. This may sound luke warm, but I would certainly show up to see how young we all look, if at all possible.  I can help out, if the help can take the form of a computer based effort.  Let me know...and keep me posted.

Claire DiLazzaro (Ensminger) and I talked about the low turnout from class 56 at the May picnic. We talked about having a class 56 dinner the night before the picnic. The Picnic is on May 4th and we would have a dinner on the 3rd at a local restaurant. I talked to Russell Purcey and some others and they thought it was a good idea. I would be willing to put together a committee for the dinner if there would be enough interest. We would have to secure a restaurant ASAP as this would be a Saturday night. email me or call at 714-985-9771

There are a number of us who walk weekdays at the West Covina Mall and often we run into two of our old teachers, Les Clemmer, and Coach Bob Musick.  They are well and seem to enjoy  visiting with their old students. It seems they are in better health than some of their students.

Does anyone know the where a bouts of our class President, Jim Baumgartner?  We worked together at Western Electric then he went into being a meat cutter. Hope he still has all of his fingers.

It was good to see more class of 56 members at the Cal-Rods, BPHS
reunion last May.

Hi everyone.  To remember me, you have to remember
Patti Coffman.  We were always together.  Her home was my second home.  She passed away June of 2000.
We were both very short...but that never stopped us.  Oh, what trouble we could get into...LOL!!  Wonderful memories!!  We made old lady Green (little short English teacher) crazy...poor thing.  She could not tell us apart...always calling me Patti.
