Norma,

Kathy (Fergen class of 56)  and I pulled our 5th wheel RV to Lincoln, NE for the 5th annual Speedster Reunion held at Speedway Motors in Lincoln.  We took our speedster to drive on the tour, and ran it on the hill climb, and placed 2nd.  From there we went North to MN for a short visit with my cousin and then West for a visit with her cousin in SD.  In Hill City, SD we rode a steam train, called the 1880 train.  It is a big steamer, a 2-6-6-2 articulated engine.  That was a neat experience.  We then headed home with a stop in Heber City, UT for another train ride, on the Heber Creeper.  This ride was very disappointing!  The cars were not restored, there was no narration, absolutely disappointing!  We had to take a couple of alternate routes because of all the flooding back there, and had some rain and wind, but overall we had a great time!

Dear Classmates,

We  are in Camp Hosts at Unity State Park, Oregon for two months this year (July and August).

If you are in the vicinity, stop in and visit. The beer is cold and the fishin' is good!

Best Wishes,

Lynn and Marcia Ostensen

Lynn Ostensen visited Sonia Easley today. The two  enjoyed lunch and talked about the old high school years. We haven't seen each other since high school.

Beautiful Trip to Canada

Big Bear

I just got to visit with Norma while I was in Baldwin Park to visit my Sis.  We really had a good visit.  My sister just retired from the place that we both worked at for years.  She worked there for 41 years and I was there for 29.  They had a luncheon for her that I also attended so I got to visit with all my co-workers and that was great.

Anell Ramynke McClellan on right

I had lunch today with Anell Ramynke McClellan and her sister. Anell is down from Tehachapi visiting her sister in Rialto and mother. Came over to Covina on business so we meet for lunch. Was really great talking about the good old times in Baldwin Park. Had a great visit with the gals.

My wife Judy and I are getting ready to take a two month cross country trip from Washington (where we live) to San Diego to Maine. This is a trip we have always wanted to take for our entire married life. We will be married 50 years this February and this trip is one of the celebrations we will be having during this year. We will be stopping and visiting some old family homesteads along the way. We are going to stop in Branson, MO and go to a show and then head to Albuquerque, NM for the big hot air balloon show. Our long time friends, Brian and Nancy Scrivens, have been so helpful in helping us plan this trip and even making all of the reservations. We can't tell you how much we appreciate them for that. We will be traveling in our fifth wheel trailer and the Scrivens will be in their own. We will connect with old friends in New York. Our start date is Aug 15 and we hope to be back in Spokane by the middle of October. It is important that we get back by then so we can "winterize" our trailer before the snow flies. We will even stop at Niagara Falls! All of us love to explore and travel so this is one trip we will never forget. We will leave the Scrivens at Grand Canyon and head on home at that point. Our daughter, Stacey, and her family will be house/cat sitting. By the way, we got a phone call from our son in San Diego this Sunday morning and we have a new grandson. His name is Ryan Jamison Gingrich. He weighed in at 8 lbs and 11 oz. and is 21 inch long. Of course, Judy can't wait to get her hands on that baby and that is the big reason we headed to San Diego before we took off across country. I hope this find everyone in good health. Both of us are enjoying good health and happiness. We will let you know how our trip goes. Moe Gingrich
